What inspires you? I’ve always been very inspired by movies. My dad is a major movie buff so I grew up watching everything from Mr Smith Goes to Washington, to Harry Potter or Star Wars, to the 1978 surf movie Big Wednesday. I’m a sucker for a good color scheme, and lately I’ve been obsessed with anything involving blush tones. Currently I’m on a major Mad Men kick so close to everything I wear is somewhat Betty Draper inspired.
What are you currently coveting? The Dior sock boots, Levi’s 501s, Denim Boilers
Who would you invite to your dream dinner, dead or alive? Ella Fitzgerald, all of the members of the Rat Pack, Barack Obama, Grace Kelly and Kris Jenner.
If you could be living anywhere in the world, doing anything possible, what would you pick? I’d be living in the South of France, sailing and doing nothing all day.
How did you figure out that you wanted to be a stylist? I was really inspired by Cameron Russell’s Ted Talk from a few years ago where she advises young girls to aspire to “be her boss” instead of becoming a supermodel. Once I watched that I realized that it would be more gratifying to work behind the scenes. My love for fashion stemmed from a deep fascination with being able to transform yourself by just putting on a hat and a jacket, and I guess it all started from there.
Where do you want to be in 5 years? Traveling, working as a stylist, hopefully owning a couple dogs and a cat.
What moments make you happiest? When I’m surrounded by at least 3 cute animals.
What are some goals, big or little, you want to accomplish in 2016? I want to graduate, go to Europe, style some cool people, build my portfolio, eat well, and meditate more
What makes you you? This is always such a tough question but I guess to the core I focus on not taking things too seriously and being kind. I was raised with the notion that it's easy to always put people first and I feel like that has really helped shape as the person I am today. The most important thing to me is being able to laugh at yourself and let things go.
What’s in your purse right now? Probably 17 different receipts, 5 loose pieces of gum, Rose chapstick, my mini Moleskine planner that I accidentally ordered on Amazon and my favorite sunnies from Free People
Favorite memory? I can’t say that I have one specific favorite memory but if I did it would probably be on one of my family vacations to the Oregon Coast.
